We use the A Beka program at Creative Child Development Center.  The program has a heavy focus on phonics.  Most of our Kindergarten children are reading by the time they leave for 1st. grade.

The teachers teach the basic colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet and some Spanish.  Our curriculum also allows plenty of opportunity for messy time (painting, shaving cream art, sand or water play, etc.).    There is time for open ended play and art.

The classes also have reading time everyday.  The children visit the bookmobile every Tuesday at the center and pick out the books they would like to read.

Of course outside and inside activity play is just as important.  We all love the opportunity to let off a little steam.
